Movimiento Pro Cultura presented the second edition of Raíces, featuring "Universal African Dance & Drums Ensemble", a community organization from Camden, New Jersey, dedicated to social work, music and dance. The dance academy “Hispania Dance Academy”, from Worcester, Massachusetts, also participated, offering different variations of Latin American dance. The show featured the participation of miss Nashira Mencía, who performed various pieces of Belly Dance to the delight of the audience. Argentina was represented by the “Tango Embrace” dance school, with its director Analinda Marcus and her companion Peter Simineau, who showed the tango dance as it was created in the Boca neighborhood, the cradle of this representative music of Argentine culture.
The show was held in the auditorium of the South Lawrence East school, Lawrence MA, on May 7th 2011. Master of Ceremony by Carlos Martínez, a dominican journalist and radio celebrity, co-founder of the MPC.
